Officers listening to residents’ views |

|
Officers have been visiting households in Hatfield to listen to residents’ views on local issues. On Wednesday 12 November, officers from the Welwyn Hatfield South Neighbourhood Policing Team conducted a door-to-door engagement exercise in Stonecross Road. PC Martin Field, PC Alfie Mustafa, PCSO Thomas Martin and Special Constable* Jamie Wise knocked on doors up and down the street to speak with residents and see how they could help. The officers listened to lots of views on local issues, completed the priority survey** with residents and encouraged registrations on Herts Connected. A number of drug and anti-social behaviour issues were raised which officers are following up on, and a crime was also reported to officers in person. PC Martin Field said: “This was a really useful exercise which allowed us to find out more about residents’ views and offer reassurance that we are listening. “We focussed on Stonecross Road as drug issues in the Hatfield East area is one of our official neighbourhood policing priorities. This was chosen after residents gave their feedback to us over summer. We are working hard to tackle this issue and hopefully our visits to houses in the street will remind residents to keep on reporting any concerns they might have. “Thank you to everybody who took the time to speak with us.” *Special Constables are volunteer police officers. They have all the same powers as regular police officers, are highly trained and play an essential role in preventing, reducing and tackling crime and keeping the communities of Hertfordshire safe. You can find out your area’s current priorities by searching your street name at herts.police.uk You can use the Herts Connected platform to let us know what you think we should be prioritising in your area.
